New Jersey motor vehicle accidents: 2 killed in multi-car crash

On many roads, the only thing that protects drivers from oncoming traffic is a stripe of paint on the center of the road. Unfortunately, this does little to protect drivers and passengers from motor vehicle accidents caused by negligent drivers. Police in New Jersey are still trying to piece together the details of a recent crash that resulted in the death of two people.

The crash happened one evening on a day in March. Reports indicate that a total of six vehicles were involved. However, police believe that the collision initially began when two vehicles experienced a head-on collision.

One person died at the scene of the accident while a second died after being transported to the hospital. Three other victims remain hospitalized, including one listed in critical condition and two listed in serious condition. Police are asking anyone with information regarding the crash to contact them.

While police work to sort out all of the details, the victims of the crash -- including the family members of the two deceased people -- are likely still struggling to come to terms with the ramifications of the crash. Often, motor vehicle accidents leave victims wondering how they will be able to meet their financial obligations which can increase due to funeral expenses. Combined with loss of wages due to the death of a loved one and/or medical costs, additional stress may be experienced. However, they do have the option of seeking damages in a New Jersey civil court. A successfully presented case could result in a monetary award that will help ease the stress that some people face following a serious crash.
