Many car accidents are caused by unlicensed drivers

Numerous people on New Jersey's roads are driving without valid drivers' licenses. Often, there is a reason why these individuals are not allowed to drive, but they do so anyway, which can put other people's lives at risk. Car accidents caused by these individuals could be avoided if they respected the fact that they are not supposed to be driving.

The family of a victim of a recent accident may be asking whether the crash that took its family member's life could have been avoided if the driver believed to be responsible for the crash had not been driving. Troopers with the New Jersey State Police determined that the 43-year-old man was driving on a suspended license, if he had one at all, when he crashed head on into the vehicle in which she was a passenger. The accident occurred at around 11:30 p.m. on Route 206.

The 27-year-old driver of the car in which the Florida woman was a passenger managed to escape the crash with only minor injuries. However, the 22-year-old passenger's injuries were severe. Even though she was flown to a trauma center in the area, medical personnel were not able to save her life. The other driver was arrested after being taken to an area hospital. Further details about the crash are unavailable at this time.

Families of those killed in accidents like this one may use the information gathered from an investigation to establish negligence on the part of the parties deemed responsible for their loved ones' deaths. This information can then be used in wrongful death claims. If they successfully prove that their loved ones were killed due to the negligence of others, the courts may consider awarding damages for the losses related to the car accidents.
